AutoDoc Roadmap
-
This phase marked the beginning of the AutoDoc project, starting as a conceptual prototype for our senior design course. Concluding in May of this year, the phase was highly successful and provided a strong foundation for future development. It acted as the perfect launchpad for the next stage of work.
-
The primary goals of Phase 2 are to continue refining the AutoDoc prototype and submit a provisional patent application for its design by May 2026. This stage will focus on refining hardware, integrating advanced electronics, improving navigation systems, and validating the technology in real-world conditions. During this time we will also be looking to start an LLC to help secure funding for the project through investments.
-
Once the patent application is submitted, we will begin marketing the AutoDoc to companies, potential partners, and manufacturers. While the length of the patent review process is uncertain—and may require resubmission after initial review—we will continue to enhance the original AutoDoc Rover and design additional variations of the concept for possible future patents. This phase concludes when the patent is officially approved.
-
With the patent secured, we will move into scaling and deployment. Possible paths include licensing the technology, selling the patent, or partnering with manufacturers to bring the AutoDoc to market. The focus will be on preparing the product for widespread adoption and getting it into the hands of farmers to create measurable impact.
